Special Education

The Philosophy of the Special Education program is consistent with the school's mission statement. Specialized courses and approaches to learning are designed to help students meet high expectations, state and district requirements, and the challenges of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, while addressing the goals and objectives of their Individualized Education Program (IEP).

Special education services and programs are offered in accordance with state and federal laws that govern special education, and are driven by the scope of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. Keefe Regional Technical School is committed to providing exceptional service to students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment while working collaboratively with parents and the community to meet the diverse needs of all learners.

Students participate in a fully inclusive setting with support from special educators and ancillary service providers. Additional supports are available through a structured system to provide access to the general curriculum as prescribed by the IEP.

Job Entry Training (JET) Program

The Job Entry Training Program (JET) is a substantially separate program available to high school age students who qualify through the IEP process. This  program provides a modified, functional based academic component, pre-vocational skill development and transition planning catered to meet individual needs.
