Horticulture and Landscape Management

The Horticulture and Landscape Management Program provides students with training opportunities in all aspects of the Green Industry. The curriculum stresses the study of landscape management, plant and soil science, horticulture, turf management, equipment operation, small engine repair, landscape construction, masonry, greenhouse management, arboriculture care, floral designing, and plant propagation.

Students use the Keefe Regional Technical School grounds and greenhouse for hands- on training and real-life work experiences. In addition, eligible students can participate in off-site cooperative work experiences. Placements may include private landscaping companies, Framingham Parks and Recreation Department, Framingham Highway Department, Natick Community Organic Farm or Cavicchio’s Greenhouses.

● Operate tractors, industrial mowers, trucks, and gas-powered seasonal equipment to
   maintain a 25-acre property
● Construct attractive floral arrangements, natural living displays and outdoor
   recreational spaces
● Work in a full-service greenhouse growing flowers, trees, vegetables, herbs, fruit and
   shrubberies
