Criminal Justice
The Criminal Justice Program is a program for students interested in law enforcement, criminal law, crime scene processing, investigations, disaster preparedness, ethics, and government. Through the Criminal Justice Program, students learn about the law and its application in real world scenarios.
Students develop an understanding of the role and skills of professionals in the field of criminal justice. Students engage in skill development used in the following areas: law enforcement, fire departments, law firms, federal agencies, courthouses and correctional facilities.
Students gain access to potential careers in: Law Enforcement, Homeland Security, Forensics, Crime Scene Analysis, DNA Analysis and Fingerprinting, Advanced Communication, Computer and Online Security, Basic First Responder, Fire and Rescue, and Physical Training/Defensive to name a few examples. Students who qualify can earn certifications in CPR, First Aid and 911 Dispatching.
- Investigate simulated crime scenes, tag and process evidence, and use CSI forensic techniques
- Observe and work alongside local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies
- Identify and report relevant facts from simulated crime scenes and articulate the Constitutional rights involved in the scenario
