Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R)

The Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) is one of the fastest expanding construction trade occupations in the country today.  A well-trained student can enjoy the benefits of expanded career pathways, job security, and opportunities for advancement.  Through HVAC-R theory instruction, laboratory projects, and live work on jobs within the Keefe Tech community, students learn how to install, service and maintain equipment used in environments, such as residential homes, schools, hospitals, restaurants and factories. 

In-depth instruction related to electrical theory, the physics of heat and fluids, formulas for heat load calculations, as well as basic design and engineering of heating and cooling systems make HVAC a perfect fit for students interested in the field of applied science and math.

 

  • Install, service and maintain equipment used in environments, such as residential homes, schools, hospitals, restaurants and factories
  • Dive into instruction related to electrical theory, the physics of heat and fluids, and formulas for heat load calculations using applied science and math skills
  • Understand the basic design and engineering of heating and cooling systems
