Cosmetology

Keefe Regional Technical School’s Cosmetology Program is a dual-licensing program for students meeting the State Board of Cosmetology’s age requirements. In the 1,000 hour-course curriculum, students learn how to cut, style, perm, color and highlight hair. Cosmetology students also learn basic facial procedures and manicure procedures to prepare them to take the Massachusetts State Board of Cosmetology Exam.

A major emphasis is placed on sanitation and sterilization. Students need a release signed by their parent/guardian in order to avail themselves of cosmetology services, such as haircut, hair color, highlight, and permanent wave.

The Cosmetology Department operates a salon for the public and work on clients from the community as part of their training. Students graduating from the Cosmetology Program are well prepared for entry-level positions in the field and to continue their training at the post-secondary level depending on their desired career path.

  • Express personal creativity using the latest techniques, trends and name-brand products
  • Provide hair, nail and skincare services to clients in a full service interactive salon and spa environment
  • Work alongside professional cosmetologists to explore quality salon services and management
