Grade Eight Applicants

Our application window form students applying to begin their high school career at Keefe Tech in the fall is between October 15 and January 15.  All interested students should submit an application online within that window to be eligible for the lottery.  

All in-district eighth grade applicants will have the option to earn 3 addition weights (entries) into the lottery upon review of their attendance records, discipline records and participation in an activity showing their interest in career and technical education.  Our preferred method of demonstrating student interest will be through a non-evaluative interview that takes place at the in-district middle schools.  Students may still apply when the admissions window closes and their application will go into a "late applicant" pool.  Additional lotteries will be held if space allows. 

All students accepted through the lottery will receive information about additional transition programming being offered at Keefe Tech including: Welcome Sessions at in-district Middle Schools in March/April, Welcome Dinner and Career Fair at Keefe Tech in May, and Grade 9 Step-Up Day in August.  Our goal is for all accepted students to have the support to make a successful transition to high school.  Please contact our Admissions/Counseling Department with any questions or concerns about the application process.  We look forward to continuing to work with all eighth grade students and their families for a positive transition to Keefe Tech!

Keefe Tech operates on a rolling admissions basis for students who apply throughout the school year on a space available basis in our Career and Technical Programs.  This is the case for high school students who are interested in transferring.  Transfer applicants are reviewed once an application is submitted online. Student records are required to complete a transfer application.  Records needed vary depending on the grade level of the applicant, but will include, school attendance, and school discipline from the current and previous school year.  Lotteries for transfer admission will occur as needed.  Please note, that our Counseling/Admissions Office will send a records request to the high school listed on the application.  If you do not hear back from us, we are most likely waiting on records.  We encourage motivated families to also reach out to their current school to assist is this process.  

Once an application is complete, someone from our Admissions Office will contact the applicant and family about next steps. If an applicant indicates a program that we do not have availability in, we will contact the family via email letting them know that there is no availability and that we can put them on the waiting list.  Prospective students and families can contact our Communications Coordinator, Iracely Sanchez at 508.516.2305 or isanchez@jpkeefehs.org with any questions or concerns.  

Prospective students who reside outside of our 5 in-district communities of Ashland, Framingham, Holliston, Hopkinton and Natick are able to apply for admission to Keefe Tech and will be reviewed on a space available basis.  The same criteria is reviewed prior to admission.  Out-of-district applicants are required to connect with their district's Superintendent's Office regarding the approval of a Chapter 74 non-resident form.  Keefe Tech does not have any control of an out-of-district community approving this form regardless if an applicant meets our admissions criteria.
