Students are successful at Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference
Nine students attended the National Leadership Conference of the student organization Business Professionals of America in Dallas, Texas, from June 17 through June 21. Accompanied by their advisors, Don Conaghan of Information Technology and Patricia Boyd of Business Technology, these students attended the conference workshops and competed in several events. They were eligible to attend because of their excellent performance in the state competition in March.
Business Technology seniors Estefanny Caicedo and Becky Ramirez and junior Andressa Fernandes, all of Framingham, competed in such events as Advanced Office Procedures, Advanced Word Processing, Advanced Interviewing Skills, and Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications. Information Technology senior Steven Gould of Natick and juniors Lineck Barros, Brandon Levenson, and Ulysses Prouty of Framingham, Michael Emily of Natick, and Colin Fraser of Ashland competed in such events as PC Servicing & Troubleshooting, Network Design, VB.Net, and Interviewing Skills.
Michael Emily placed in the top ten in PC Servicing & Troubleshooting. The Network Design team, pictured below, won third place in the Network Design team competition. It was very exciting when they learned Friday night that they were finalists; they spent most of that night rehearsing for their second presentation on Saturday, this time to the finalist judges. Evidently the effort paid off.

All students are to be congratulated on their success and on the effort they put forth as competitors. Everyone at Keefe Tech is very proud of them.
